"Aerogenesis"
Flight Centennial Collection |
![]() |
| Artist's Statement: Insects, birds and bats, and humans in their dreams, are the only naturally flying entities on planet Earth. When, and from where, did the ability come to fly? Why? "Aerogenesis" abstracts the gift of flight, leaving the viewer to ponder the ultimate source. About the Flight Centennial Collection: Most works in the Flight Centennial Collection, use structural components, flight-stressed fabrics and metals, and contemporary and vintage hardware, from aircraft that played major roles in the first century of aviation. "Aerogenesis", and others in the Heavenly Body Series, deviate from this rule, enabling artistic license to meet the demands of a different metaphor. |
