Artist's Statement:
"Southwest Spirit II" is dedicated to Nancy Harkness, who, on January 25, 1936 at 11:15 AM, landed at the Davis-Monthan Airfield in Tucson in her Beech B17-L on her way through to Phoenix, AZ. Sundance and fire emerge at once from airplanes in flight over the southwest. Driven by corpuscles of technology in the lymph of "Southwest Spirit II", who can resist a brief Kachina dream in dry air? |
